We exist to help you find what your looking for, chart a course to a simpler place, and revel in the experiences you find along the way.

Here at Karta, it's all about outdoor pursuits. At our core, we have dirt, sun, snow and rivers running through our veins. We’re just like you, sharing the same experiences among the mountains, forests, fields, trails and rivers. Our time plotting and planning our return to these magnificent places, and constant burning desire to find the next, push us to make the most forward-thinking map products possible for those who share the same passions as us.

Karta was born when Founder Spencer Stanek, a landscape architect by education and ski resort designer by profession, started making maps for friends and family. After looking at what was out there, he found that no one was providing a high quality, easy, and fast solution for getting customizable printed maps. Using his expertise and experience in land planning, cartography, GIS and graphic design, he set out to build a user friendly system that allows people to be able to create a map totally unique to their needs and stacked with customizable options, where you can see and adjust proofs immediately as you create, and not spend weeks waiting for it to be delivered.
